Supported Devices for TREX TV
Which devices TREX TV runs on, the three genuinely different ways of installing it, and what to buy if you are starting from scratch.

TREX TV is a subscription and a playlist, not a single app. That means it works on almost anything that can play video over the internet — but how you set it up differs sharply between platforms, and the difference is worth understanding before you buy hardware.
The three installation routes
Sideload an app
Firestick, Fire TV, Android TV, Android boxes, phones and tablets. You install an APK, either with a Downloader code or straight from the browser. This is the fullest experience.
Store player + Xtream Codes
iPhone, iPad, Apple TV. Apple does not permit sideloading, so you use an App Store player and sign in with your line.
Store player + MAC registration
Samsung and LG smart TVs. Tizen and webOS block sideloading. You register your playlist against the TV’s MAC address on the player developer’s website.

We do not sell hardware and have nothing to gain from a recommendation, so here is what the support queue actually shows. Devices with a wired Ethernet port and hardware HEVC decoding generate far fewer problem reports than Wi-Fi-only devices, regardless of brand or price. Everything else — remote design, interface, storage — matters less than those two things.

| A Samsung or LG TV from before 2016 | No current player supports it. A cheap Fire TV or Android stick in a spare HDMI port is the fix. |
| An Apple household | Apple TV 4K with Ethernet gives the most stable result on iOS/tvOS. |
| Nothing yet, and a budget | A Fire TV Stick 4K Max or a Chromecast with Google TV both work well and take the Downloader route. |
| Constant buffering on the TV’s built-in apps | That is the TV’s radio, not the service. An external device on Ethernet will fix it. |
