TREX TV Setup on an Android TV Box

Generic Android boxes — the X96, H96, T95 and Magicsee family — usually ship without a certified Google Play Store. There are two reliable ways to get TREX TV onto them.

Steps last verified 22 August 2026.

Before you start. Your TREX TV line details — server URL, username and password — are sent to you on WhatsApp or Telegram the moment your free 24-hour trial or paid plan is activated. Keep that message: every app on this page needs the same three values. If you have lost it, message support on WhatsApp and we will resend it.

What you need

  • Any Android 5.0 or newer box
  • Either a browser or a USB stick
  • Your TREX TV server URL, username and password

Route 1 — Downloader or the built-in browser

  1. Find an app installer

Most boxes ship with an app store clone, a browser, or a file manager with a download function. Any of them will do. If the box has Google Play, install Downloader and use code 2892546.

  2. Enable unknown sources

Settings → Security → Unknown sources on Android 5–7, or Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps on Android 8 and later.

  3. Download the APK

Open the download page on the box's browser and pick a build. Each entry lists its version, size and SHA-256 so you can confirm the file arrived intact.

  4. Install and sign in

Open the downloaded file, choose Install, then sign in with Xtream Codes as above.

Route 2 — USB stick

  1. Download on a computer

Save the APK from the download page to a FAT32-formatted USB stick.

  2. Plug it into the box

Open the box's file manager, browse to the USB device and select the APK.

  3. Allow the file manager to install apps

Android will ask once. Grant it, then confirm the install.

  4. Sign in with your line

Open the app and choose Xtream Codes (sometimes labelled Login with Xtream Codes API). Enter the server URL, username and password from your activation message exactly as written — they are case-sensitive. Give it 10–30 seconds to pull the channel list and guide.

Watch the storage figure. Cheap boxes advertise 16 GB but leave 2–3 GB free after the system partition. If an install fails with no visible error, clear space first.

Questions about this device

Which Android box should I buy?

We do not sell hardware and will not recommend a specific model. In support tickets the pattern is consistent: boxes with wired Ethernet and hardware HEVC decoding generate far fewer buffering reports than Wi-Fi-only boxes, whatever the brand.

The box says the APK is not compatible.

The build needs Android 5.0 or newer. Very old boxes and 32-bit-only chipsets on Android 4.x cannot run current builds. Check Settings → About for the Android version.

Can I install on Android from a phone browser?

Yes — that is the Android phone and tablet guide.
